Qatar History and Citizenship is a compulsory subject for any primary school teacher in Qatar.
When I taught this subject in Qatar, I was surprised to discover how thin the student text book was, how little resources were available for students on the Internet and that there was no teacher guide to help teachers effectively teach this subject.
This Year 2 teaching pack contains lesson plans and additional worksheets to support 39 weekly lessons. These lessons cover all a student needs to know about the subject, and the lessons are designed to motivate and excite a student's interest in the history around them.
These worksheets could be printed out and used as workbooks in the classroom, sent home as additional homework or shared via an interactive whiteboard.

I added a Diwali colouring book and also a presentation on how you can use these resources to make 31 different teaching resources in the classroom.

There are so many different national days to celebrate throughout the year. I have created presentations about a wide range of them. I lived and I worked in Qatar for a year. I know that while you need to teach about Qatar History, the books you are given are not easy to use and certainly won’t last you a whole year and so I took the books I was given and I extended the tasks to produce a more interesting and more supportive learning environment, ideal for both the teachers and their students to get a lot more out of this topic.
